Vandemoortele is a Belgian family business, founded in 1899 in Izegem. This food company has grown into a European market leader in the two business activities it operates: ‘bakery products’ and ‘margarines, culinary oils and fats’. The plant in Izegem produces margarines and deep-frying fats for both professional users and retailers. It also markets a number of consumer brands, of which Vitelma and Fama are the best known, in addition to the Vandemoortele brand for deep-frying oils and mayonnaise. Vandemoortele Izegem is the group’s largest plant with an annual production of 160,000 tonnes divided over 20 production lines.
