Vandemoortele is a Belgian family business, founded in 1899 in Izegem. This food company has grown into a European market leader in the two business activities it operates: ‘bakery products’ and ‘margarines, culinary oils and fats’. In 2018, Vandemoortele achieved a turnover of EUR 1.4 billion with 5,100 employees. The group is present in 12 European countries with its own sales organisations and/or production sites..

The plant in Izegem produces margarines and deep-frying fats for both professional users and retailers. It also markets a number of consumer brands, of which Vitelma and Fama are the best known, in addition to the Vandemoortele brand for deep-frying oils and mayonnaise. Vandemoortele Izegem is the group’s largest plant with an annual production of 160,000 tonnes divided over 20 production lines.

The company is characterised by a strong performance orientation that is achieved by combining technology with a people-oriented approach. A highly automated production system allows the company to generate added value for its customers in terms of quality, lead time and sustainability.
